Delete your WishlyBox account
WishlyBox is operated by WISHLYBOX LTD. You can delete your account and the data attached to it at any time, from inside the app or by writing to us. Both routes lead to the same deletion.
Option 1 — delete it yourself in the app
- Open the WishlyBox app, or sign in at app.wishlybox.com.
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll to the Account section and choose Delete Account.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then confirm once more.
If you have a paid subscription, cancel it on the Subscription page first — the app will prompt you. Deleting the account does not by itself cancel a subscription billed by Apple or Google.
Option 2 — ask us to delete it
Email legal@wishlybox.com from the address registered with your account and ask us to delete it. We reply within 30 days.
We confirm that the request really comes from the account owner before deleting anything: we reply to the registered email address with a confirmation link, and act only after you follow it. A request we cannot verify is refused. Deleting an account is irreversible after the recovery window below, so we would rather ask you twice than remove someone else's data.
What gets deleted
- Account and profile: name, email address, avatar, language and appearance settings
- Wishes and wishlists, including uploaded photos, links, prices and notes
- Events, reminders and notification schedules
- Friends, contacts, family group membership and invitations
- Gift rooms, reservations, chat messages and gift plans
- Secret Santa draws you created or took part in
- Analytics and diagnostic records tied to your account identifier
What is kept, and for how long
- Payment and tax records required by law — retained by our payment provider for the statutory period, without your name being linked to app content
- Content that belongs to other people and only mentions you — for example a gift another user reserved in their own list
- Backups, which roll over on their own schedule and are fully purged within 30 days
Timing
Your account is deactivated immediately and stops being visible to other people. For 30 days you can change your mind by signing back in, and everything is restored.
After 30 days the data is erased permanently and cannot be recovered, unless we have a legal obligation to retain a specific record.
