## 1. The problem it solves

Gift-giving fails in predictable ways: people forget dates, two relatives buy the same present, nobody knows what the recipient actually wants, asking directly ruins the surprise, and group gifts collapse into a messy chat thread. Wishlist apps solve the first half — the list. WishlyBox is built around the second half: the coordination between the people buying, kept invisible from the person receiving.

The product has two sides:

### 2.1 Wishlists

- Unlimited wishlists on every plan, including Free.
- Each wish holds: name, description, one or more photos, price and currency (currency auto-detected by location), a link to the product page, and a priority level.
- Wishes can be organised by occasion, category, or person.
- Visibility is per-list: private, friends only, or public by link.
- Sharing: direct link, WhatsApp, Telegram, or email.

### 2.2 Guest wishlist — no account required

- https://app.wishlybox.com/create-wishlist creates a wishlist without signing up.
- You get a shareable link immediately.
- Optionally attach an email to recover access later.
- Converts to a full account at any time without losing the list.
- This is the only part of the app open to search engines; everything else requires a link or an account.

### 2.3 Gift Rooms

Real-time spaces for the people buying the gift. Inside a room, participants can:

- see the recipient's wishes,
- reserve a gift so nobody buys duplicates,
- add and discuss gift ideas, and vote them up or down,
- chat in real time,
- record contributions toward one joint gift and see the running total.

The recipient never sees the room and never learns who reserved what. Free plan: 1 room. Premium and Family: unlimited rooms.

Important limitation: contributions are **tracked amounts**, not transfers. WishlyBox does not move money between users; participants settle up however they normally would.

- Anyone with the link can reserve a wish, including people without an account.
- Reserved items are marked so other givers do not double-buy.
- The wishlist owner does not see reservations by default — this is what keeps surprises intact.
- Premium and Family unlock "see who reserved" for your own list, for people who prefer transparency over surprise.
- Family additionally allows several people to reserve the same wish (useful for a joint gift).
- Abandoned reservations expire so items return to the list.

### 2.9 Contacts, friends, and proxy wishlists

- Store contacts with their birthdays and gift preferences, whether or not they use the app.
- Friendship connections let you see friends' wishes according to their privacy settings.
- Proxy wishlists let you maintain a list on behalf of someone else — a small child, an elderly relative — and share it.
- Contacts are unlimited on every plan, including Free.

These formats exist because a wishlist link is a weak thing to send someone; a quiz or a quest is not.
